There’s a very strong possibility in the near future that up to 40 Minor League Baseball teams could be completely wiped-off and cease to exist. At the end of the 2020 season, the Professional Baseball Agreement (PBA) between MLB and MiLB is set to expire.
MLB is looking to improve MiLB stadium facilities across the country, as well as take control over how the minor leagues are affiliated, and the geography of the leagues.
This would obviously be a huge change in the structure of baseball, and there’s a chance your local MiLB team is affected. The plus side to this would be better facilities, increase in player salary, and easier travel.
