Source: The Washington Capitals have acquired forward Carl Hagelin from the Los Angeles Kings for a third round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft and a conditional sixth round pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today.
“We are pleased to welcome Carl to our organization,” said MacLellan. “We felt this trade enables us to add depth up front and provides us with a veteran player with a tremendous amount of speed to help us on the penalty kill.”
I feel terrible for my close friend Carl Hagelin for now having to share a locker room with Tom Wilson. He’s been passed around the NHL more than the puck bunnies at a D3 school. That’s not his problem he’s just the hot blonde everyone wants a piece of.
Carl Hagelin is a monster on defense, excellent at transitioning the puck to O and one of the league’s best PKers. Hagelin draws extra penalties for his minutes, and takes fewer penalties for his minutes. A great addition to the already good 33-20 Capitals team. Not to mention the King’s now have a total of 10 picks for the upcoming NHL draft.
