AHHH it’s one of the best times of the year for us NHL fans. Some big moves may be on the horizon as some big name UFA’s are on the trading block going into deadline day in a couple weeks. One of these guys could be that key piece to your team, winning the hardest, most beautiful thing in sports, which is the Stanley Cup.
Now lets get right into the first name that every contender has their eyes on…Artemi Panarin. This guy has had so many trade rumors surrounding him for the past two months now. Some say he isn’t comfortable with Columbus and doesn’t want to be there. This is your typical Russian hockey player where nothing else matters but the state of how he’s feeling. Panarin is an absolute stud, so much skill and he can be a game changer without a doubt. The most obvious team for me is Florida since they have the chance to sign them in the off-season, but they might wait ’til summer time to grab him instead of giving up anything right now. I have one dark horse in mind, The Nashville Predators. This team needs to add this type of piece with their window closing on winning a cup. Poille is a legend and knows what he’s doing. He’ll do whats right for the Preds in the end.
Alright, up next I got two teammates that have been out in the news lately. That’s Matt Duchene and Mark Stone. Now we don’t really need to get into the whole dumpster fire story that the Ottawa Senators are. They do have some brightness coming in the future with the likes of Brady Tkachuk and Thomas Chabot. Besides that, the Senators are probably going to try and sell one of these guys. Duchene has been tearing it up this season and is going to get paid big time this summer. Stone hasn’t had the season Duchene’s had, but he’s a big player with a big shot who will also be getting paid very well this off-season. Honestly, I can’t tell you who either or these players are going to be, but I will make some predictions as to what I see happening. Yes 100 percent, I think Nashville will be keeping an eye on both of these guys and will try to make a play, especially for Duchene. Other than that, almost any playoff team is going to take a run at getting Duchene. A fit I see for Stone are the likes of Boston as a rental. But I can also see him going to a heavy Western Conference team such as San Jose as a rental if they have the pieces to get him.
Some other big names for you hockey fans to keep tabs on going into the deadline are guys such as:
- Wayne Simmonds
- Sergei Bobrovsky
- Brayden Schenn
- Kevin Hayes
- Jakob Silfverberg
- Micheal Ferland
Alright everyone thanks for checking in! Let me know who you want to see be traded and to what team!
